Some verbs are speech acts: a person says something; other verbs are nonverbal or at least not narrowly vocal. For example, saying "hello" or "goodbye" is not treated as a speech act in the game, because it can be expressed without quotation marks, as in "Camiggdo greets Koopie". It is true that the vast majority of verbs in the game represent some kind of vocal expression, but we'd still like to add some emphasis to some of these. Here are three versions of the verb "What's New?": The first shows the question inside a portion of a speech bubble, which itself inside a square, which denotes a verb. The second uses a round speech bubble to denote a special kind of verb, a 'speech act' verb. The third does the same, but uses a rectangular speech bubble. I believe that a speech act should definitely be denoted by some kind of speech bubble.

I agree. I could see it being any one of these, but I think that the first one matches the visual language; that is, the speech is a verb, so it's placed inside the "standard verb square." My second choice would probably be the third one, but that's a tough call.
